I'm new to this so any advice here would be 3) use basic underlay for laminate (insulated joists = insulation). Underlay for laminate flooring and luxury vinyl tiles helps to protect the joints in the planks or tiles, reducing any risk of flexing to extend the life of your flooring. And luckily, it is easy to install.
